More About This Recipe

  • Did you know that a French apple pie is different than the traditional American apple pie? The difference is a matter of how you top the apple pie. The classic apple pie is typically topped with a second crust resulting in a golden brown, flaky topping. On the other hand, the basic French apple pie is topped with a crumbly streusel topping made up of brown sugar, cinnamon, butter and a few other add-ins. Some people choose to add oats to their streusel, while others opt for pecans or some type of nut. You can also add a pinch of nutmeg to bring out the rich flavor of apple pie. However you like your apple pie, (we like ours with a double scoop of ice cream!), one thing is for certain—there are plenty of ways to enjoy it. Take a look at our article on all things apple pie, including how to make it your very own.
