More About This Recipe

  • Scalloped potatoes and ham has long been a comforting, warm-you-up dish, and this slow-cooker version makes it even better! The slow cooker does all the work for you so you can be hands off. All you need to do is slice the potatoes, mix the ingredients and put them all in the slow cooker. Not sure which potatoes to use? We recommend Yukon gold potatoes. They are starchy enough to give the dish its classic creaminess, but they will also hold their shape well when sliced and cooked. For best results, slice the potatoes about 1/8-inch thick. To make them uniform, try using a mandoline! Making all of your slices the same width will ensure that the potatoes are evenly cooked. If you don’t have a mandoline, take your time to thinly slice the potatoes with a sharp kitchen knife, keeping the slices as uniform as possible. Don’t have a slow cooker on hand to make this recipe? We have plenty more scalloped potato recipes for you to choose from.
